Following an Instagram-led petition on Change.org, Honest Burgers has announced that it will relaunch its BACON PLANT vegan burger onto its main menu.
Honest Burgers is renowned for being a meat-lovers’ paradise and also for its punchy & concise 8-option menu.
The BACON PLANT was launched as a vegan monthly special back in January, combining a plant-based burger with THIS™ Isn’t Bacon, vegan smoked gouda, shoestring fries, THIS™ Isn’t bacon ketchup, chipotle ‘mayo’ spinach and pickles. The relaunch follows huge demand from customers to bring back the BACON PLANT, galvanised by a Change.org petition initiated by Honest fan and food influencer Licky Plate that garnered 647 signatures in just 48 hours – smashing the initial target of 100.
This marks a radical change for Honest Burgers, with unprecedented menu extension of the 35-branch chain. It also signifies a turning point for consumers’ eating habits, evidencing the rapidly increasing demand for vegan options, even at the meatiest of joints.
On the relaunch, Honest Burgers co-founder Tom Barton said:
“I thought the Bacon Plant petition was going to be a bit of fun. We didn’t know what to expect. Two days later and 600+ signatures… it’s time to give the people what they want!”
Andy Shovel, co-founder of THIS added:
"It was the best burger I have ever eaten. So I’m really chuffed it's back”
